I leave the vehicle control station and walk over to the helm to stop the ship. I notice on the map that my carrier is getting very close to the island. After three seconds the order goes through, and two seconds later a massive barrage hits the tanks and wipes them all out. I hold my camera steady over the tank concentration and tell my ship to fire its main guns at that point. I see a group of four enemy seals (light tanks) grouped together near a factory building. The fog makes it hard to see units using the gimble cam, but luckily the sun sets as I'm marking, and the enemy units turn on their headlights making them easier to spot. You can put on various overlays on the map displays to see the current conditions and how they are shifting to plan attacks).

It is foggy and raining at the island (the game has a full weather system that includes fog, rain, wind and even ocean currents that are constantly changing and have different effects. I then switch to direct control of the albatross, switch to its gimble camera (an attachment that allows you to zoom in and mark targets) and start zooming into the approaching island to look for targets. A barge at my starter island starts loading these automatically and will drive out to my carrier to deliver them.īy this time my albatross has taken off, so I walk over to the vehicle control station and set up waypoints for the albatross to circle the island I am approaching. I decide to order a walrus land vehicle frame (a heavier armored land vehicle that I can outfit with weapons), about 20 small bombs and 25 IR missiles. I tell one of my albatrosses to take off (these are your starter light fighter aircraft),hen walk over to the logistics station to see what is on my carrier and what supplies I need. I turn the carrier towards the island, push the throttle to full, and then walk over to the vehicle control station of the bridge. I decide to head for the airframe producing island. I see that there are three potential islands nearby that are lightly defended - a fuel production island, a "large munitions" production island, and an airframe producing island. I look at my logistics map to see what nearby islands are producing and what their defense levels are. Here's an overview of my gameplay from the start of the game. However, no other game has really accomplished what this game does.

It definitely isn't a game for everyone, and the learning curve is extremely steep. I've pretty much been playing this non stop.
